Let’s face it. The human body can be very stinky! Of course, it’s completely normal not to smell a little less-than-fresh at times. Luckily, we have plenty of foods around the kitchen that help fight body odor. And I’m not just talking about your armpits here. From mouth to toe, here are my favorite foods that combat body odors.
1. Apple Cider Vinegar
You can spray a little apple cider vinegar (ACV) on the areas of the body that have an unpleasant odor. Then, wipe dry. You can follow with a dab of your favorite essential oil, if you feel the vinegar scent is lingering. If your skin is sensitive to ACV, you can always dilute it with 50 percent water.
Furthermore, ACV can be very helpful in getting rid of smelly feel. If you have this problem, soak your feet in a mixture of half cup ACV and four cups lukewarm water. Soak for 20 minutes and repeat twice per week. You can also use ACV in a foot detox bath – click here for the recipe.
2. Lime

There are many people who say that lime is a fantastic deodorant. You can try it as a replacement for your natural deodorant, or use it daily for a week for an armpit detox.
3. Citrus Fruit
Including citrus fruit in your diet can help combat body odor. These fruits include lemons, limes, oranges and grapefruits. According to David Colbert, MD, a dermatologist and internist in New York City and the author of The High School Reunion Diet:
The acids in citrus fruits help flush water through your body. And because citrus also contains fiber, they move through your system slowly and flush out toxins that contribute to body odors.
4. Cornstarch
Cornstarch is another solution for stinky feet. Some feet perspire quite a bit. If you have this problem, your closed-toed shoes might be getting pretty dank. A simple solution is to sprinkle some cornstarch in those shoes overnight. It will absorb the moisture and neutralize the odor. Then, your feet are less likely to smell bad when you wear closed-toed shoes.
5. Mint
Peppermint and spearmint are two wonderful solutions for bad breath. The strong oils contained in these herbs are very effective in masking odors that linger after a fragrant meal. Keep in mind, though, that chronic bad breath is typically a sign of poor diet or bad oral health. So if a peppermint candy or leaf doesn’t work for you, then visit your dentist or consider a dietary change.
6. Chlorophyll
Supplements that contain chlorophyll, such as Organic Chlorella Powder capsules or Liquid Chlorophyll dietary supplement, can be very effective in naturally detoxifying the body and balancing gut bacteria. By supporting the body’s natural cleansing processes, these supplements help decrease body odor. They also help reduce bad breath that can result from poor digestion.
