Derived from the Latin word for bumblebee.
Bees work together to make their hive a better place. They’re small, but their combined efforts have a big impact on the world.
That is exactly what Bombas Socks is doing…. making the world a better place one small act of kindness at a time. David Heath and Randy Goldberg started Bombas after Dave saw this quote online:
“Socks are the number one most requested clothing item at homeless shelters.”
This inspired Dave and Randy to help people by donating socks. However, they also needed to make a living. So, they began creating quality socks for their customers and set a mission to donate one pair of socks for every pair sold.
Bombas was born out of a mission to help those in need. We’re committed to making our community where we live and work a better place with every pair of socks we sell.
Creating affordable, yet super functional athletic socks took two years to develop. The image below shows their amazing technology.
If you are wondering if Bombas donates the same socks they sell, the answer is no. Rather, Bombas makes specific socks for those in need. These socks are darker in color (since they are unlikely to be washed frequently). Furthermore, they have an anti-microbial treatment and reinforced seams for more durability.
Bombas has over 600 giving partners across the US and has donated over 2 million pairs of socks thus far (source). Their socks are available online at at bombas.com.
